The Mysterious Mirror

She had found it lying alone, deserted, abandoned in the attic. After making the discovery, Anna had gazed and marvelled at it for some time. Where had it come from? Why had no dust settled upon it, as it had done over everything else that resided in her attic? A layer of the thick dust blanketed the attic floor, and as the sunlight glared through the attic windows, the dust particles yet to settle were illuminated as they hovered in the stuffy air. Yet, the mirror looked flawless, untouched by age, not a finger print in sight.

Anna propped the mirror up against one of the thick, timber beams that jutted from the attic floor. Settling down into a comfortable position, she tentatively placed a finger against the glass…

Suddenly her finger disappeared into the glass, then her hand and her arm. Anna then found herself in a hot Jungle. She was surrounded by trees and could hardly see the sky through the leafy canopy. Anna began walking carefully unsure about her surroundings. She heard some water in the distance and began to follow the sounds. After a difficult walk through the thick jungle, she came to the edge of a river. She saw that the noise was coming from a huge waterfall pouring into the river. Anna is thirsty and bends down to take a drink from the river. After her drink, Anna notices a cave at the side of the waterfall, she heads over to explore. As she reachies it she discovers that the cave goes behind the waterfall. Anna has to be careful on the slippery rocks, as she makes her way deeper into the cave. As Anna explores the cave, she finds a tall flat rock. As she looks closer at this she notices a rectangle outline, similar to a book shape. As she ran her fingers over the outline, a panel slides back and reveals  an old book. Anna lifts the book to look at it. Suddenly the cave starts to rumble and shake. It feels like an earthquake. Anna runs towards the cave exit, with the book firmly in hand. As she gets towards the exit she slips and falls. She scramble ups and makes it out behindf the roaring waterfall again. As she sits by the river to catch her breath, she notices the book is a diary. It is her Grandad’s diary.

Anna had been in the attic as she was feeling sad. Her Grandad had been missing for 6 months now, and he often spent time in the attic. She hoped by going up there she may find a clue to his disappearance. She had not been expecting the adventure she had now.

As Anna read the last entry in the diary it told of a mysterious tribe that lived down the river that her Grandad was keen to communicate with.
Anna was so happy to have found some clue of what had happened to her Grandad. She began walking downstream with a new spring in her step.
After a few hours of walking, Anna heardr drums. She approached carefully, hiding in the trees. She saw lots of people, dressed in grass skirts dancing around a fire. They were speaking in a language she did not know. Then she noticed a large cooking pot over the fire, with her Grandad in it.
Anna was scared, she didnt know what to do. There were many people and she was just one person. Then she remembered her phone in her pocket. She loved jungle things and had recently downloaded a tiger growl ringtone. It was her only chance. She turned it to full volume and played the sound. As the tiger roared from her phone, the people stopped. Then they began shouting and grabbing spears. Then ran past as anna hid in a bush. When the coast was clear anna ran to the pot and helped her Grandad out. They hugged, she was so happy to see him.
“ We must get out of here” Anna said. “Hold on a minute, I have something i want to leave them” said Grandad. Out of his bag he took out some seed packets and a vegan cookbook, and left them in the pot.

Anna and her Grandad walked quickly back to where they had first come into the Jungle. Anna spotted the mirror. They held hands as they walked through back into the attic.

Anna was so happy to have her Grandad home. They had shared a special secret adventure. If you were to ever visit the tribe in the Jungle, you would find a tribe of vegans, successfully growing their own vegetables, with their families. They are all very healthy.
