A big mucousy tentacle

It was my first boat trip and i was very excited. “Come here Emily” shouted my dad. We were starting our journey. After some time I was looking out to sea. A big mucousy tentacle slithered out of the deep blue water and up the side of the boat. The suckers of the  tentacle glistened in the sunlight. Slowly a big bulbous head came from the depths of  the sea. I noticed the colossal orange eyes that arose with it. Suddenly another tentacle came out like the last. Then another and another soon all eight slithery slimy tentacles slithered round the boat I could see the giant ripples  making waves from the tentacles that were slowly pulling the boat down under. Suddenly lots of the giant waves started rolling over the boat over and over again. Meanwhile people started running out of the cabins grabbing buckets and scooping up the water and throwing it out. They soon  realised the giant squid that  was attaching its tentacles to the boat. Some of them started backing away and some of them didn't notice so they kept throwing the water out. One of the crewmates shouted “land ahoy” cause he thought it was a storm so he sharply turned towards land. The giant squid quickly let go and went back Into the depths of the sea…

Moment’s later there came a CRUNCH! The boat

hit a coral reef. Screams and shouts erupted from all over the ship. I felt very shaky, Dad held my hand. The ship came to a sudden stop. The captain came to check out the damage. He told the passengers to be calm and gather their essential belongings. He told them “we can walk along the reef to shallow water and make it safely to the island where we can spend the night”. The passengers nodded in agreement. I returned to my cabin with Dad. I grabbed my cuddly rabbit and my phone. Dad grabbed his phone, sleeping bags, and a bag of yummy snacks. We followed the rest of the passengers to the Island.
The following morning, after a cold night sleeping on the beach I woke up early. I looked out at the ship and saw the squid doing something to the ship. I watched with curiosity. Then

lot's of language features

This week i have been learning language features. we learnt what a simile is and we learnt what a metaphor is and what alliteration is
a simile compare's two thing's using the word {like} or {as}.
E.G.
You were as brave as a lion.
They fought like cats and dogs.
He is as funny as a barrel of monkeys.
This house is as clean as a whistle.
He is as strong as an ox.
Your explanation is as clear as mud.
Watching the show was like watching grass grow.

A metaphor compares two things directly, by saying something is something else.
e.g. The snow is a white blanket. He is a shining star. Her long hair was a flowing golden river. Tom's eyes were ice as he stared at her. The children were flowers grown in concrete gardens. Kisses are the flowers of affection. The falling snowflakes are dancers. The calm lake was a mirror. A Metaphor is usually stronger
and more specific than simile.
Alliteration is the repetition of consonant letters in a sentence
e.g. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. A good cook could cook as much cookies as a good cook who could cook cookies.
Black bug bit a big black bear.
Sheep should sleep in a shed.
I saw a saw that could out saw any other saw I ever saw.
She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
Hope you enjoy my writing!
Did you learn any thing new!
