the Jollyt jolly jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

Reflection on PBL:

For our Jolly Jar my group did bookmarks. It was really fun. I think it was the best P.B.L yet! 

I contributed to my group by helping  to make the  instructions and give ideas.

Why did I like it? I really liked it because we could choose what to make.and i like to read and i can never find a bookmark.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because the buyer  could make their own

What I learned about working with others was you have got to be patient with everyone

How did we build community through our actions? 

We sold our Jolly Jars that we made and design to raise money for a community bike track! 

  

I did same challenges we did them out of newspaper my favourite challenge was the balloon catcher we had to make something out of string tape in newspaper to catch a blne  and offered two and a half metre space. My team nearly won I got bamt at the last minute. I liked doing challenges it was really fun. We had a lot of different ideas. We ended up with a claw and one for was bigger we doing that ideas together to make a bigger one and a better.

Next we did  fashion. We only had newspaper 10 metres of tape I made some earrings some shoes a hat a t-shirt and a skirt we only had a little amount of time my buddy was Amelia in the end it all works out good I loved doing it we have a lot of different ideas but then we just heard some that was the easiest I tried making a jacket but then it just rapped 

last of all a marble run I had to make a ramp or something to race the marble down we had to drop it so we did not push it hours sadly broke so we couldn't compete I had fun anyway we didn't have much ideas for this one then in the end we went went for the tube my teammates were Amelia Tomasz and me it was really fun I liked it I really wanted to do all different challenges

The marvelous day at the Museum

On Monday the 16th  I went to the museum. it was based on Maori technology.  first we went into a classroom  and we  got into a group and we went around to do all the different activities. the first activity was  trying to make a fire  there were two different types of sticks and we  rubbed them together after a minute or two  it would start a fire sadly the sticks or Blunt so we can make a fire😭 it did smell like smoke but it didn't heat up or anything.  the next activity  me and my group did was  trying to draw something  that was on a poster  the pictures on the poster  they were cave drawings I drawed a lizard  a dog  and something that it looked like a person doing a handstand. it was fun  next we flattened Rocks  we have a little rock that we found the sharp side and we rubbed it against the hardside  of another  Rock  after that one we did carving there was a block of word and there were some lines on it he had to dig out the lines with you had your hand of course and you had like a drill kind of thing not really though but yeah and you had hit on the lines and I can make it dent . then we  again a bit like carving  apart from we had a big like x but it's not really an ex  fair skip-it safety goggles on Vineyard pick up the x and he put your feet either side of a wooden block and then we're both hands on the ex you would go and hit it it had it 10 times and then give it to the next one  I took my glasses off and put them on the shelf

on the 7th of November  i did korfball. korfball  is a  game from the Nederlands.  the hoops were more in the middle . so you can get a 30 degree  angle   to shoot the ball.  now here are some Ruols how to play the game.  girls can only Mark girls and boys can only Mark boys. 

Winter sport season of doom!

Over the winter sport season my team have won once and lost lots. My team mates are: Mimi,Corrine,Elise,Sophie ,Zoe and jasmine We have had mixed success Our team has faced many challenges, we showed team spirit, perseverance and determination.I enjoy playing with my coach Something I found challenging was Everyone basically knew how to play... we didn't that much. I’d like to thank my teammates for their support and my coach for their help.My highlight for this season has been  working with new people and and learning a new sport.This term I had to play netball I've never played it before.Next season I would like to do football. Sportsmanship qualities I showed this season first we lost and lost and lost but then second to last week we got it, we won that game as well as our very last. I got better at dodging and defending, attack was not my strong point. Corrine ,Elise and Mimi are on holiday so they were here for the first and second Corrine and Elise are twins. Mimi is not. What would you play if you had a choice?

Lily's really cool Lego blog👍👍

Hi, a couple of days ago I did some LEGO with Imagination Station. they came over to my school and I did some LEGO. Frist we needed to make a bridge across a table and it needed to hold around about seven books and a pencil case. (quite heavy) We got second place Ariella's came first  I was with Amelia and Arielle it was really fun. Next we tried to build the tallest tower we joined up to three other teams it was really tall I liked knocking it down # we won! And then we needed to make a car we had to make to the first one with Lego well you know but there's technique Lego as well the first car was not successful which broke into pieces when we rolled it down the ramp so we went with the Technic Lego we got all the way to the end

I went with Amelia it was hard to choose between Amelia and Arielle but in the end  Arielle wanted to go with someone  else. Me and Amelia/ Arielle and Millie( Millie is Arielle's partner in the end)          we were both went all the way to the end! I 💜ed it!!! what would you do if you had a choese?

I 💕 Flamingos

        

I chose to write about flamingos because I like them and I know most about them and I love them: Did you know that they live up to 20 to 30 years!?!

A flamingos nest is made out of mud rocks & feathers.

A flamingos diet make it pink.     

A flamingo can fly up to 35 mph.

A flamingos habitat is a warm wetlands.

Flamingos wade in water that stay in a group called a colony

flamingos fly with their necks straight & feat straight like this:

   

Flamingos lay 1 egg at a time.

A baby flamingo is Gray or white.

After 2 or 3 years a flamingo tones pink.

A flamingo can stand on one leg for 4 hours we can only stand on one leg for 10 sekins.

Flamingos are found in America and south America.
